Clutch #1 Laid 4/26/08 7 eggs (6 eggs in pic, didn't notice mom had 1 egg left in her until after I cleaned her tub. She laid the 7th egg about 30 minutes later, looks good.) This girl bred with a lesser, a pastel, and a het red axanthic male. I bred multiple co - dominant males to several of my normal females. Have to wait until hatch time to see who fathered these "mystery" clutches! 6/22/08 4.1 het red axanthics, 2.0 normals. The het red axanthic male was the primary breeder with this girl, looks like he got the job done. Het red axanthics are visual hets, nice little black backs.
IMPORTANT! - Although each individual egg can only be fertilized by one male, multiple males can fertilize different eggs in the same clutch! It's ok to back up a co -dom male with another co -dom male, as the babies will either express the co - dom trait or just be normal. It's not a good idea to back up a recessive male (albino, pied, etc.) with a co - dom male unless you plan on keeping the babies for your own projects, because you won't know for sure who fathered the normal appearing offspring.
